Kiran's Trust Birthday Email 2013

Dear Friend,

October is here and that means we are celebrating our 4th Birthday, and on the 9th, we remembered Kiran's 24th Birthday. This also means that we are at the start of our giving year which sees us continuing to support some existing scholars and school awards, as well as support some new young people and schools.

When we look back over the last four years we see a charity that has grown quite steadily and is doing some fantastic work with young people through its giving program. This, of course, is due to all our supporters who just give without question. We hope you see that we try to spend your hard earned pounds responsibly.

Update
In our last newsletter, available at http://www.kiranstrust.org/newsletter.html we covered most of programs we have running, however there are few wee updates for you. The group that won the Battle of the Bands at Larbert High School, Fighting Descent, spent a day and half recording and mixing tracks with Andy Taylor at Homegrown Studios in August. Having heard the tracks, which are very good, we'd call it progressive rock (a label our resident music man gave it!). Once the music gets online, we'll send out the link to you.

We mentioned that Ele Erskine was to be part of a 'Secret Agent' themed exhibition. We attended the opening evening and found Ele's painting hanging along side the likes of Elizabeth Blackadder, etc. We were thrilled for Ele when her painting sold almost on the doors opening--amazing and well deserved! We talked with Ele and her mum, who were over the moon. Her mum said being supported by Kiran's Trust gave Ele the confidence boost she needed to get going, and it came at just the right point of her life. Without all of you we could never have helped Ele in such a way.

Friends.
In our last newsletter we mentioned how we are going to change from referring to you as Members of Kiran's Trust to being Friends of Kiran's Trust. We see this as a more appropriate term, and we like the sound of it a whole lot better! Nothing else really changes.

For those of you who have already 'renewed' your friendship with us for the coming year, a big Thank You! For those that have joined us this past year…Welcome and Thank You! For those of you who wait for this friendly reminder, you can go to www.justgiving.com/kiranstrust or you can email us at info@kiranstrust.org to organise bank details, PayPal, or donations by post at 46 Abbey Wall Rd, Pittenweem, KY10 2NE.  If you donate as little as £10, we will send you some note cards with Kiran's artwork on them (if you have a preferred design, just let us know the number on the back of the card). Or this year we are in the position to offer Christmas cards--just let us know what you'd prefer with your donation.

IMPORTANT. Just word on Just Giving and being anonymous. When you make your donation if you tick the box about no further contact from the charity, then you do come through to us as anonymous and we cannot therefore send you any cards or thank you as we don't get your details...just the donation amount. If this is what you intend then that is fine, if not then it is probably why you don't here from us. So in that case just drop us an email/note.

Christmas
As for the Christmas cards, we are also offering them for purchase. These card designs have been created and donated by our scholars, and for £12 we will send you 10 cards.  See the designs below, and let us know which you would prefer or if a mixture will do. Again, this can be organised through Just Giving or send us an email.

Thank you so much for this wee bit of your time, and more importantly, Thank You for being such a good friend to Kiran's Trust.  Without you, none of our work would be possible.

Yours sincerely,

Johnny
